The other towns from Greece also had armies, like Athene, Corynthe, Thebe, Argos, Platae, etc. The Athenians where the most active and build aliances with other towns. They where on the center of the war against the Achemenid Persians, and their most motivated enemy. Greek towns made armies with an "elite" of hoplites heavy or medium infantry, suported with light infantry troopers fighting with bows, slings or javlins (Psiloï). Greeks use very few cavalry warriors during this time.
